A successful weekend

This last weekend was the annual Buckhorn Show. This was the fifth time I have attended. It was a very successful show with good attendance and an enthusiastic crowd. People do not believe when I say that the thing that makes a show successful for me is the conversation and the compliments but it is the truth. Those who have talked to me at the shows will attest to the fact that I like to talk. And I appreciate the compliments. Selling a painting is merely icing on the cake. This weekend, there was dessert. I sold "Evening Service" on Saturday morning and "Late Day " on Sunday afternoon.

People often ask how I feel about parting with a piece that has involved such long hours and deep concentration. My answer is always the same. I work for compliments and the ultimate compliment is when somebody parts with that kind of money to own one of my paintings. I look to the future and am always excited by the possibilities of what will replace it.
